best queso i've ever had. TRUE mexican food & the chicken chimichanga is thick and crunchy, unlike anything you've ever had before. a ballwin staple, with true comfort feel good food.
I ordered the beef fajitas. The beef needed more seasoning like garlic powder, onion powder and lime juice. Most of the meat was tender. I had a very friendly young man as my server who did a great job. This is a cozy restaurant at Manchester and New Ballwin. There's plenty of parking in the lot in front of the restaurant.
What can I say serve was quick quick quick! The servers were on point. The place was packed and busy for a Friday night. They have a small bar area with a huge TV hanging over the bar to watch sports or what have you. The Mole Poblano over the chicken in my opinion, has the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. They have a great kid menu with very simple options. It's a very cozy spot and in a good location.
Go just for the complementary chips and salsa! Really, they're that good. We were in a small group for dinner. Mi Lupita servers were on top of things throughout the meal. No fewer than three employees stopped by at different times to confirm our needs were met. Dishes came out correctly and there were no complaints about any entree. My taco salad had an abundance of shredded chicken that i would have preferred had more seasoning. But that was my preference. Another diner might have found it just right.

We were blessed that Katherine waited on us on our visit in February and again on this August visit; both times she was friendly and welcoming and helpful. This visit we enjoyed - a hand-poured / hand-mixed Cadillac margarita - they are quite tasty! - a spinach quesadilla special, which was really good, with nicely melted cheese - carne asada ... which we shared. Mi Lupita has been successful in Ballwin for almost 30 years now because they serve wonderful food and drinks and offer great service. The tamales at this restaurant are amazing!!Chips are fresh and hot and the salsa is delicious. The torta is top notch!! The service is always great!! The inside could use some TLC, the food is what brings us here though!!
Sooo after trying a few Mexican restaurants Mi Lupita is by far the best! Service has definitely improved and the food is consistently good!
Mi Lupita was next on our list to try in the STL area. Located in a shopping center in Ballwin, MO it's one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area. Traditional decor as you expect and plenty of seating for both small or large groups. Menu was very diverse and all the dishes you expect to see. Wife went with the chicken enchiladas with verde salsa, and was a huge portion. I went with the Cali Burrito, a loaded burrito with steak and covered with queso sauce. Both dishes were delicious and seasoned appropriately. Didn't try the margaritas this time as we had errands to run, but from observing other groups they are very popular here. Overall good experience and reasonably priced. Service was great and checked on us frequently.
